Imagine having a zoo all to yourself. And having supper there. And not waiting on long lines to get up-close-and-personal at the exhibits. And doing this with friends and family. Join all the APS 2014 attendees for a private, yes private, reception at The Memphis Zoo. Beginning at 18:00, the zoo is open for APS 2014 attendees only! A buffet dinner, ice cold beverages and desserts will be served at various areas throughout the zoo.

This zoo, recently named as one of the top ten zoos in the United States, is home to more than 3,500 animals representing over 500 different species. The zoo has completed over $90 million in renovations and expansions since the early 1990s. You'll visit animals residing in one-of-a-kind exhibitry called Once Upon A Farm, Commercial Appeal Cat Country, Primate Canyon, Northwest Passage, Teton Trek, Animals of the Night and China, the home to giant pandas YaYa and LeLe.

For families bringing children to the zoo, there is a sprinkler park/water feature at the front courtyard of the zoo. On a warm summer evening, this may be fun, but please be make sure you are prepared with the following items (there are no changing facilities, other than the public restrooms, and there are no locker facilities):

  1. Rubber-soled water shoes, not sandals or flip-flops;
  2. Towels;
  3. Change of clothing;
  4. Backpack or other tote bag.

Also, for the safety of everyone, we ask that all children be supervised by their parent or guardian during water play.
